Pledges¶
Pledges are commitments made by donors to support your fundraising efforts. In Evergiving, pledges represent donor intent and contain all relevant information about the donor, campaign, and contribution.
Key Concepts¶
Pledge Statuses¶
- Pending: Default status for new pledges awaiting validation.
- Approved/Invalid/Alien: Statuses resulting from validation workflows. Alien pledges represent those that do not meet quality criteria but are not marked as Invalid.
See also Verification Calling for more on verifying pledges.
Capture Date¶
The capture date reflects when the pledge was initially collected and does not change if the device was offline. The "Date created" timestamp represents the time of capture in the team's timezone.
Pledge Captures Page¶
- Processed = Yes: Pledges picked up but not created in the customer's account.
- Processed = No: Pledges captured but not submitted for processing.
Card Type Validation¶
If the card type is displayed as CREDIT/DEBIT
, it indicates that BinDB could not determine whether it is a credit or debit card.
Credit Card and Bank Validation¶
Evergiving makes a call to BinDB to obtain issuing bank information when saving the pledge. If bank data is missing, it may need to be updated in the database.
Acquiring Pledges¶
Pledges can be acquired in real-time by face-to-face fundraisers using Evergiving. Fundraisers collect essential details, such as the campaign, donation amount, donor information, and approval status. Even when working offline, Evergiving ensures that pledges are accurately captured. For information on managing call outcomes, see Manage Calls.
Verification and Next Steps¶
After acquiring pledges, they need to be verified. Use Evergiving's integrated call center to contact donors, confirm pledges, and validate their intent. Outcomes, such as validation or cancellation, are tracked and can be customized to fit workflows.
If edits are required, changes are logged in a timeline, showing who made the changes and when.
Managing and Utilizing Pledges¶
Evergiving offers filtering options to manage pledges efficiently. You can filter by various criteria, create complex filter sets, and save favourites for quick access. For more on segmenting pledges, see Lead Segmentation.
Pledges can be exported securely to CRM systems or reporting tools like Salesforce or Google Data Studio. For more on exporting data, refer to Exporting.
Insights and Performance Tracking¶
Pledges contain meta information, such as the fundraiser, campaign, and capture time/location. This data helps gain insights into campaign performance. Refer to Tracking Interactions for managing fundraiser efficiency and Attrition and Retention for improving donor relationships. Use tools like Data Visualization Tools for visualizing performance data.
