Digital Forms

You make changes to the components in Evergiving and then you publish them via Digital Form Snapshots in Evergiving. “Published” means it has a URL and is fully usable and testable. “Live” means the short URLs (QR codes) redirect to it. There is only one version of the form that is ‘live’. You can publish the changes you make, and then preview them, but it won’t be ‘live’. To make something live, you must publish and then click ‘make current’.

Public URLS/QR Codes point to this ‘live site’. A Digital Form configuration attaches some metadata to a particular form. We can then track the form data, plus extra stuff. The reason we have a list of Public URLS/QR Codes is that they all point to the same form - the 'live' form in Digital Snapshots, but with slightly different metadata.

So, what we really do is configure the components in Evergiving, publish them using Digital Form Snapshots and then create a short URL (and a snazzy QR code!)  we give to our clients via Public URLS/QR Codes.

Example

Imagine a charity running a campaign in London, Brighton, and Manchester. We'd create a single form for them but assign different locations through digital form configurations. Subsequently, we'd generate three distinct short URLs, all redirecting to the same form. This setup allows us to determine the signup location (and even quirky details like the color of their socks! Once we've got that, who knows? Maybe we can influence elections. 😈.)

The URL’s on the Public URLS/QR Codes page will always point to the ‘live’ site set in Digital Snapshots. So when you update the form in Snapshots, (after you’ve tinkered with it about 10 times) and you finally set it ‘live’, the URL we give the clients will automatically point to your new design.
