Terms used at Evergiving¶
A simple list of key terms used on our platform and in the industry.
API (Application Programming Interface)¶
A way for Evergiving to connect and share data automatically with other software you use, like your donor database (CRM) or accounting system.
Campaign¶
A coordinated effort to raise funds for a specific cause or project or charity organisation.
Campaign Form¶
The digital form used by fundraisers to capture a donor's information and payment details.
Donor Journey¶
The entire experience of a donor, from first hearing about the cause to making a donation and continuing to support over time.
Face-to-Face (F2F) Fundraising¶
The method of raising funds by having fundraisers talk to potential donors in person, often in public places.
Inbuilt Validation¶
Automated checks within a form that happen in real-time to ensure data is correct. This includes checking card numbers, addresses, and email formats.
Offline Capability¶
The ability for the Evergiving app to capture donor information and payments without an internet connection. The data syncs to the cloud once a connection is restored.
Payment Gateway¶
A service that processes debit and credit card payments securely. Evergiving connects to multiple gateways to accept donations.
Regular Giving¶
A donation model where a donor agrees to make recurring payments (e.g., monthly) to support a cause. This is a primary focus for sustainable fundraising.
Script¶
The pre-written dialogue or talking points a fundraiser uses to engage a potential donor, explain the cause, and ask for support.
